I'm Client Zero - Materials & Design

Selecting the materials for my kitchen was no doubt an undertaking. I was not only defining the aesthetic appeal but also ensuring durability and functionality for my family. From countertops to flooring, cabinets to backsplashes, each material contributes to the overall ambiance and functionality of my space.

I knew that I wanted to lighten everything up, and create an art deco / modern and striking atmosphere. I designed black and white shaker style cabinets with my cabinet maker and selected my floor stain with my hardwood floor specialist. I also selected two coordinating countertops from Cambria Surfaces for their clean and modern look. I have always loved green and gold accents, so I mixed that into my overall design plan. I had been eyeing what became my green glass Currey & Co. chandelier and recovered my counter stools in a beautiful green chartreuse Italian leather. To pull in the art deco look that I love, I selected a backsplash from Artistic Tile that is lightly textured with a golden metallic motif. The little details like my satin brass Water Street hardware also makes a big impact. My Bernhardt table and Four Hands kitchen chairs also play into this over aesthetic.

One of my favorite ways to accessorize is with live plants and flowers. They bring so much life to any space and are easy and affordable. I love finding unique vases and mixing them throughout.

In the quest for a kitchen that seamlessly blends style and functionality, selecting the right finish materials is paramount. By carefully evaluating the durability, maintenance requirements, and visual appeal of each finish material, you can create a kitchen that not only reflects your style but also stands the test of time. After all, a well-designed kitchen is not just a place to cook; it's a canvas for shared moments with friends and family.
